My name is Omar Danaya. I am a Moroccan actor, writer, and filmmaker, born in 1993 in Kenitra, Morocco. I hold advanced academic training in cinema and theater and have completed more than 17 professional certifications in acting, directing, and filmmaking.
As an actor, I played a principal role in the Indian series THE FREELANCER (Disney+ Hotstar), and I also appeared in the Italian feature film IL NIBBIO and the French feature film 13 JOURS 13 NUITS.
As a filmmaker, I directed and starred in my award-winning short film MARYAM, which was officially selected at more than 55 international film festivals and received over 12 international awards.
I speak Arabic and English, and I can also perform and work with scripts in French, Spanish, and Turkish, allowing me to collaborate on multilingual international productions.
I am currently based in Cannes, France, after coming here to participate in the France–USA–Africa International Film Festival, where I was honored with two honorary awards in recognition of my work as an actor and filmmaker.
